Searching for how many D-mannose gummies make one serving is really a label question. The answer sits in the Supplement Facts panel, and it changes from product to product. Here is how to read it, using the VITAMIZED D-Mannose + Cranberry Gummies label as a worked example.
The short answer for this label
On the current VITAMIZED label, one serving is 2 gummies. A bottle holds 60 gummies, which is 30 servings. The suggested use for adults is 2 gummies daily or as directed by a healthcare professional.
That serving is where every number on the panel comes from. Per 2-gummy serving, the label lists:
- D-mannose: 250 mg
- Cranberry extract 50:1: 30 mg, equivalent to 1,500 mg of cranberry powder
- Hibiscus flower extract 10:1: 25 mg, equivalent to 250 mg of hibiscus powder
- Calories: 20; total sugars: 5 g, including 5 g added sugars
Why one gummy is not "one serving"
It is easy to read 250 mg and assume it describes a single gummy. It does not. The amount applies to the serving size printed at the top of the panel. If a serving is two gummies, one gummy holds about half of each listed amount. Taking more or fewer gummies than the suggested use changes every line, including sugar.
Three numbers to check on any D-mannose gummy label
- Serving size. Is it one gummy, two, three or more? Brands differ.
- Servings per container. Divide the gummy count by the serving size. 60 gummies at 2 per serving gives 30 servings.
- Amount per serving. Compare D-mannose in milligrams for the same serving size, not the same bottle size.
Federal labeling guidance describes the Supplement Facts panel as a per-serving format, with serving size and servings per container stated near the top. See the FDA's Dietary Supplement Labeling Guide, Chapter IV for how that panel is organized.
A quick way to compare two bottles
Say one bottle lists 250 mg per 2 gummies and another lists 300 mg per 3 gummies. Divide each by its gummy count to see how much sits in a single gummy, then look at what a full serving gives you. A bigger bottle count or a bigger serving can make the front of a package look stronger without changing the amount per gummy. Check the panel, then the price per serving.
Other items on the same panel
- Sugar. This label shows 5 g added sugars per serving. A higher serving size multiplies that.
- Extract ratios. Cranberry 50:1 and hibiscus 10:1 describe how the extract relates to the plant material. Our guide to what 50:1 cranberry extract means goes through that line.
- Other ingredients and cautions. Read the full list, and the adult-only and healthcare-professional notes.
